2011 R+L Carriers Bowl to Become a Classic
Dec 15th
The Louisiana Superdome will come to life on December 17th when the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl begins. The San Diego State Aztecs take on the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns in a battle for the title. The Aztecs come into the game with an 8-4 record and a 4-3 record in the Mountain West Conference. The Aztecs average 29.8 points per game on offense and 24.4 points per game on defense.
The Aztecs are headed up by senior quarterback Ryan Lindley (2,740 yards – 52.5 completion pct – 20 td’s / 8 int – 122.9 rating). The running game is in stellar hands with star sophomore RB Ronnie Hillman (287 carries – 1,656 yards – 19 td’s). Hillman had a 99-yard touchdown run in a loss against Wyoming on October 29th. Hillman reminds many of former Aztecs phenom and latest NFL Hall Of Famer Marshall Faulk who also ran all over the field against opposing players in the early 1990′s.
The Ragin’ Cajuns defense will have their hands full in trying to slow down Ronnie Hillman on the ground. Both defenses will definitely get a workout in this shootout of two phenomenal squads. The two-way threat of Gautier versus the ground game of Hillman will be a spectacle. Both schools will work to put a lot of points on the board in this matchup.
Football Betting — the 2011 Super Bowl is Fast Approaching

The football betting pointspread is the way that the sportsbook tries to even out the betting action towards both sides. As an example, in the February 2008 Super Bowl, the NFL betting pointspread was New England -12.5 points.
Since New England was undefeated the football betting public was naturally gravitating their way so the pointspread was made rather large to entice an even amount of football bets the Giants way. New England would have had to have won the game by 13 or more points to cover the football betting spread.
The Giants won 17-14 to “cover” the spread. Even if the Giants lost, they would have had to have lost by 13 points or MORE to lose the wager. For those who like to choose sides but don’t like pointspread football bets there is the alternative of the money line.
Money line football betting is where you chose the straight up winner by laying or taking odds rather than points. Another highly popular form of football betting would be “totals” also known as “over/unders”.
In that aforementioned Super Bowl odds, the total posted on the board was 54.5, which meant that the combined score would have to exceed that number to go “over”. The Giants 17-14 win combined for a total of 31, which went “under” the total.
Football Bets the Most Popular Type of Sports Wager

Sportsbook betting is geared far and away more toward pro football than any other sport offered at an online sportsbook.
Sportsbook betting on the National Football League is something everyone thinks that they can do with success but few actually succeed. The overwhelming majority of online sports betting fans lose at pro football. The big initial mistake that sportsbook gamblers make when betting pro football is that they first look towards the power chalk.
The initial fact to remember here is that there is no online sportsbook value in doing what everyone else does. It’s a lot like buying a tech stock last decade. There comes a time when a stock becomes totally over-valued and inflated because the masses jump on and buy high, rather than low.
